Why BOTHER?!?

*ahem* mummy's sentiments.....

Found that sign familar?!?

Yeah, you get see them outside the elevator in MRT stations in Singapore.....
Tax's payers' money put to good use!!
We are upgrading our MRT stations with elevators.....
How brilliant!!
I am so proud of you Singapore!!
You have made our MRT stations handicap friendly, elderly friendly, and parents with pram and children friendly..... Good Job!!

Oh, did I also forget to comment that you've also made it friendly for,
1) Lazy Teenagers, Ah-beng, Ah-seng, Ah-Lian, Ah Hua.....
2) Lazy Able-Bodied Young Man and Women
3) Lazy Able-Bodied Ah-Pek and Ah-Soh

Well, I take public transports such as the MRT very very often.....
YES, even with Hiroshi in the BIG BIG pram....
I belive in using it as it is for the public.....
(and I AM the PUBLIC even if I BRING a BIG BIG PRAM!!
Don't be surprise to see some passengers' eyes ROLL
when see you struggling with a huge pram.....
I know of someone who is like that......
You know who you are!! OWN UP!!)
It is affordable.....
(coz I ain't RICH enough to afford driving my own car.....
well, even if I am RICH enough to own one, I dun have a drivers' licence!!)
and best of all it is convinent!!

Going downtown:
We take the train at NorthEast line from Poungol to Dhoby Ghaut Interchange....
Where we have to change trains to get to Orchard which is at the NorthSouth line.....
Now here comes the problem....
I'll push Hiroshi in his pram towards the elevator....
a group of ABLE-BODIED passengers are already waiting in front of the elevator....
(I am serious!! Able-Bodied!! NON of them are HANDICAP or DEFORMED!!)
When the elevator arrived,
all of them rushed into the elevator with the KIASU
(slang: affraid to lose out) attitude....
(Seriously, it seems like the elevator was not gonna work after this
and everyone got to get up on THIS ONE!!)
Leaving me, the pram and Hiroshi looking at them from outside the elevator....
NON of them felt that they should come out.....
NON of them felt that they should give us some space.....
NON of them felt that they should take the escalator....
They just stared at us blankly and shut the elevators door on us....
I just felt the load full of elevator passenger shouted....
"wait for the next one, loser!!"
Sigh, I patiently waited....
Sometimes I just have the urge to ask.....
"Where are you handicap or deformed?!?"

Well, problem not over yet!!!
We finally got to the NorthSouth line....
Waiting for the train to bring us to Orchard....
"Please stand behind the YELLOW line" the announcement echo off....
I stood with Hiroshi in the pram behind the YELLOW line...
an orderly line of passengers stood behind us....
The train came....
I waited for the passenger alight the train before boarding....
I waited and waited for all the passengers to finish alighting....
BUT, the passengers behind me has already push themselves
ahead and boarded the train!!
What's the rush?!? I truely don't understand!!
If I can wait for everyone to alight, why not the rest?!?
What's wrong with their mentallity?!?
The train ain't going anywhere in that split seconds!!
Is it our education system?!?
Shape up or Ship out attidute causing us to behave like this?!?

Thumbs up for our MRT?!? YES!! Thumbs up for our people?!? I doubt so..... I am ashame of what these people are doing!! They are tanishing our imagine of being a DEVELOPED country!! With such attitude?!? We have got a long way to go!!

The good times and the bad.....

The good news is, I've turn 7 months yesterday....
A few new milestones:
1) Ti Gong finally answered my prayers!!
My teeth is creeping out of the gums at last!!
2) I can pull myself up in a sitting position in my pram.....
3) I am an EXPERT in flipping!
I keep mummy really busy at diaper changing time.....

The bad news is, our whole family is sick....
To the tune of Christian song, Pass It On:
"it only takes a germ, to get the virus going....
and soon all those around, can take part in it's suffering....
That's how it is with germ's love....
once you experience it, you spread this germs to everyone....
you dun want to pass it on....
(echo: pass it on..... pass it on..... pass it on)"

Sigh.... I am SICK.....
Running a temperature of 39 degree Celsius!
Plus flu and cough....
God, it's no joke being SICK.....
Daddy and Mummy kept sponging me with cold water yesterday,
brr.. It was really cold when they did that....
I protested..... But,
Daddy and mummy insisted that it will do me good...
Bo bian, got to listen loh.....
This virus darn tok gong!
First it affected daddy, then me....
I think mummy is getting it too!!

Oh Ti Gong please bless that my family is all well.....
Thank you Ti Gong.....

I have never seen a bath tub this size....
It a great bath tub, you should come see it for yourself....
Where on earth can you find a bath tub that comes with
sprinkles of water and a bright red cheerful slide.....

Then Daddy and Mummy told me that was a Swimming Pool.....
that I was happily paddling in.....
Well, I am happy that I came swimming today, BUT,
Does that mean this is not my bath tub and I can't keep it?!?

On @ R0@d tr|p part III

04 June:
"Baby, we are going to Hatyai....." daddy's gentle whispers woke me up at 6am in the morning..... mummy carried me into the car..... trying really hard to coax me to sleep..... But, I kept my eyes open real BIG...... filled with excitement to where we are going..... Did you hear what daddy said?!? We are going to Hatyai!! That's in Thailand!! Boy, I am so excited!

Daddy started the journey.... Yi Ku Ma, Donny gor gor, Mummy and Myself were sitting in the passenger seats with comfort...... "oh, Hatyai..... here we come!"

Daddy drove we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and sunrise. Daddy did a stopover at Sungai Bakap (Penang), we went there for breakfast and pai pai to Tai Shang Lao Jun.... After which, we continued our journey again....

It took daddy about 3 hours to drive up to Changlun (Kedah). That's the extreme north to malaysia, near to the Thailand borders. We parked our car and got a cab.

It think it costed us 65rm. We loaded our stuffs to the old looking toyota cab..... I think that cab gotta be as old as grandma!! We all had to squeeze and cram into the cab.... The cab driver started the engine.... "vrooooooOoOooom" and off we go..... The engine makes loud noises..... Mummy could heard her voice vibrate when she talks..... Yi Ku Ma, joked that we are on a helicopter..... But, Thank god, at least the air conditioner is working SUPER!!

We got across Malaysia immigration..... The cab stopped at the duty free shop car park..... Now, we have to change vehicle.... A shinny nice BIG van stood waiting for us. Donny gor gor was the happiest to see the van.... He thought to himself, wah, so BIG van, so nice so comfortable, dun need to cram liao loh!!

Everyone helped loading stuffs into the van. In no time, we were on the road again..... It is going to take us another 1 hour to get to Hatyai..... The bumpy monotonous jounery continued. It was a really HOT day.... and guess what?!? Our BIG, NEW, NICE, COMFORTABLE van's air conditioning wasn't working too well..... God, we are stuck in a sauna!! So what do you learn from this??!!??

*ahem* Never judge a car frm its' appearance!!

Mummy and myself caught 40 winks on the road...... When we woke up, we were already right in front of the hotel..... Out of the van and right into the cozy cool hotel..... We checked into Siam Centre Hotel.... Gotta stop blogging here and see what this city has for me......

Custard Apple

04 June:
We were on our way to Hatyai......
Daddy did a stopover at Sungai Bakap (Penang)
for pai pai to Tai Sang Lao Jun.
This is where I found this interesting looking fruit.....
Custard Apple....

Custard Apples are a sub-tropical deciduous tree belonging to the Annonaceae family. This family contains over 2000 members spread throughout the world.

Custard Apple trees are large and spreading, shaded by large, green drooping leaves. The tree sets many light yellow trumpet shaped flowers that emit a pungent, sweet smell especially in the late afternoon when the male pollen sacks burst open. Of these flowers, only a small number will set fruit.

Custard Apples provide a well balanced food source with ample protein, minerals, vitamins, energy and essential fibre. Vitamins A and C are vital for healthy skin, eyes, hair and body tissues. They battle those elements which age and destroy our cells. Magnesium is nature's tranquiliser. It helps cleanse our systems, improves endurance and our ability to process oxygen and body-building amino acids.

Apong Balik (Peanut Pancake)

Yummy..... This is another goodie found in Eddy gor gor's coffee shop......
Daddy says this is Apong....
Mummy says this is peanut pancake.....
Whatever it is, it sure tasted NICE!!
Outta crispy layer of pancake, with pipping hot chunky peanut......
Ti Gong..... Where on earth is my teeth?!?

Delicious Nasi Lemak

The stylo-milo Nasi Lemak store owner.....
That's Eddy gor gor. He is daddy's childhood friend....
The stories daddy told about their childhood days always
sounded like they had so much FUN together.....

We had Nasi Lemak for breakfast for 2 straight days in a row.
It is really delicious and *ahem* cheap!!
Where can you find Nasi Lemak in Singapore for only $1?!?
(which includes, 1/2 hard boil egg, peanuts, sambal ikan bilis, cucumbers
and not to mention the perfect food presentation!!)
You can choose to add sambal cuttlefish, sambal see-ham,
and vegetables to your nasi lemak,
Doesn't that wet your appetite?!?
Eddy gor gor also sells Nasi Kunyit with Chicken Curry, Glutinous rice with kaya.....
*thumbs up* Mummy and daddy loves his food!!
Psst...psst...by the way, I heard he's still single...his future girlfriend is so lucky...

On @ R0@d tr|p part II

1 June: We started our road trip.... We drove 5 hours up north to Ipoh. By chance, if you didn't know, this is daddy's hometown!!

Daddy's School (St Michael Institution)

The name Ipoh originated from a local tree, pohon epu or now more commonly known as pokok ipoh. This particular plant is used for the extraction of poisonous tree sap. The extract is used by the Orang Asli in their blowdarts. Ipoh is also known as san seng (Chinese : 山城) which means "hill city" in the Cantonese dialect. Ipoh is also known among Chinese Malaysians as "Pa-loh" (Chinese : 壩羅). The old nickname for Ipoh is "City of Millionaires", referring to the vast fortunes made during the tin and rubber days.

Ipoh is located in the rich tin-bearing valley of the Kinta River. It grew rapidly as a mining town, especially in 1920s and 1930s. With the collapse of tin prices and the closure of the tin mines in the late 1950s, Ipoh's growth had stagnated and resulted in the migration of many young and bright talents to other parts of Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Ipoh has since been known colloquially as a "dead" city and a good retirement location. In spite of this, Ipoh still remains one of Malaysia's largest cities, with a population of 637,200 (2004) and urban area population of 798,800 (2004), placing it in the top five cities in Malaysia by population. Various efforts have been made to redevelop Ipoh into a modern town.

Ipoh has one of the cleanest and clearest water supplies in Malaysia, as the source is from the waterfalls in nearby Tanjung Rambutan. The Hospital Bahagia, a well-known mental hospital in Malaysia, is located in Tanjung Rambutan.

We will keep you posted agin. Time for more good food and activities.....

On @ R0@d tr|p part I

8 full days of baby-sitting in JB.
8 FULL days without internet connection......
Mummy kinda MISS the BIG BIG world out there.....
"The INTERNET"
So here it comes, a short update.....

Was mummy baby sitting OR Was it my cousins baby sitting me?!?
I was staying in JB from 22 May till 30 May, with 3 beautiful cousins of mine;
Joey che che (12), Rachel che che (9) and Christine che che (8).
It was somehow fun. I was amazed that Joey che che can carry me!!
She is pettite and only 12 year old.... *Great job Joey che che*
Finally, someone else to carry me when mummy ignores me!!
Then we have Rachel che che and Christine che che live performances.
They sang, dance and played the piano to entertain me.....
Talented aren't they?!?
So now you decide who was doing ALL the HARD work of baby sitting?!? (",)

We had a bonus trip to Kukup on the 28th May.
Uncle Chong drove about 1 hour 30 mins from JB.
Kukup is situated south of Pontian a small town at the southwest corner of Johor.
It is an interesting fishing village with many residents having their houses
built on stilts over the sea.
This village is famous for its seafood restaurants,
most of which are built on stilts over the sea too.
Mummy will update more pictures when she is able to upload it.

We had a FUN one day trip. Manoeuvering my stroller on the narrow walkway was a tough job. We had to share the narrow walkway with other pedestrians and gung-ho cyclist. I told mummy to be extra careful with me as I dun want to end up down and under the stilts where the rats and the mud skippers are..... (",) There was a old "Ma Zu" temple facing the sea. It was such a relaxing spot!! Beautiful scenery!! WE had good seafood dinner and drove back home.

31 May: The day we drove back to Singapore..... Just because mummy wants to look at the motherhood fair in Expo, Singapore. Needless to say, it was quite a disappointment..... She only got 3 bottles of Pureen shower gel and a swimming trunk for me. Not that impressive huh?!? Moreover we could have started our road trip on 30th.... Sigh we wasted 2 days of daddy leave...
