Photographs are finally OUT!!
But, the quality of it is TERRIBLE!
This is the BEST shot I've got!!

A bit a about Joyce:
We were flying buddies since 2001.
Please pardon my pack of bones in kebaya,
and the nerdy hairdo!
We were STILL "P" plate stewardess!!
We love snuggling up in one anothers' room,
with piping hot instant noodles,
gossiping about everything under the stars.....
(Picture taken in Tokyo Shinjuku Hilton Hotel)

I love sight seeing,
and she's a shopaholic....

She is pretty much the best buddy I've got!
Thank you for making my flying career enjoyable!
*giggle*
Thanks for the flight!

Once again, Congrats to Joyce and Alvin...

KODAK ULTRA Compact Single Use Camera

Many pleasant memories came back to me
when I bought the camera.
The last time I used it
was when I was about 10 or 11 I guess.

My daddy used to buy it for me...
My sister and I would turn silly with it......

That wasn't the best part of the camera....

THE BEST PART WAS,

We REUSED the "single use camera",
over and over again.....

Don't ask me how we did it....
All I remembered was it consist of careful prying
at the side of the camera....
Loading it with film.....
Happily winding the film advance wheel.....
then it was,
SNAP SNAP SNAP!!

What joy that was 18 years ago!

BUT, for today....
It is a different story....

Technology has made me impatient.
With digital cameras,
where I could shoot and see on the spot,
Having this antique makes me feel like I am living in stone age!

Everyone in the wedding was going DIGITAL!!
And there I was....
with this "toy camera".....

I had to use up 27 shots before I could develop them!!
I got a few more to go!!

I will update with picture when I develop them!
ARRGH!!

Congrats to Joyce and Alvin!!

Formula 1 Fever

Yes! It's in town....
and we had to go!

Hiroshi is a great fan of cars....
You should see his fast growing collection of cars....
His childhood till date is pretty much rolling cars
on the edge of the bed and making engine revving sounds.....
*giggle*

Although I think fighter jets are soon catching up on his interest.....
He watches "Top Gun" starring Tom Cruise over and over again....
That's his DVD highlight for the month.....
Geez... I think I can memorize the whole script at the back of my mind!!

Okay, now back to Formula 1....

Some Interesting facts about Formula 1 in Singapore....
-New anti-clockwise 5.067-kilometre circuit
-First night-time event in Formula One history
-2nd street race (the 1st one is held in Monaco)
- An average speed of about 175km/h has been calculated for the circuit,
with drivers expected to reach approximately 290km/h along the main straight.
-Entire circuit will be floodlit with the help of over 108,423 metres of power cables,
240 steel pylons and around 1,500 light projectors.
The light created is expected to be four times brighter
than that used at sports stadiums.
*Information taken from www.formula1.com*

Results for the fastest lap:

1st practice session:

Lewis Hamilton (Britain) McLaren 1 min 45.518 secs

2nd practice session:

Fernando Alonso (Spain) Renault 1 min 44.654 secs

All the F1 cars zoomed by in a blurry lightning speed.
We couldn't even make out which car went pass!
Guessing the driver's identity is near impossible!
All you hear is a deafening engine sound and
the distinct smell of rubber burning.....

Nevertheless, it was quite an experience!

At the end of the night;
Hiroshi is an EXPERT with EAR PLUGS!!

And Sophia is just happy staying away from all those NOISE!!

Daddy's HOME!!!

I've always make it a point for the kids to pick up daddy,
when he is away for more than a week....
of course, that is if schedule permits

I love to see their eyes brighten up....
bouncing up and down....
and screaming in excitment
"PAPA PAPA!!"

They love the luggage trolley rides too!!!

Mid Autumn Festival (Part1)

The hype of mid autumn festival started on friday.....
Where Hiroshi gets to celebrate the festival
with his teachers and friends.....
and everyone was encouraged to bring a lantern.....

During this time of the year,
Ipoh; Malaysia never stray far from my thoughts .
nah... It's definitely not the Ipoh hor fun cravings....
(Come to think about it,
I dun mind having a bowl right away!!)

It the super traditional lanterns they sell....
It's a pretty sight,
along the streets,
old colonial shop houses,
selling colourful traditional lanterns
in all shapes, sizes and designs,
hung up high,
instantly bringing happiness and joy
to the old dull shop houses....

Hiroshi with his 1st lantern from Ipoh!
-Year 2006
(look how happy he is with it....)

So on Thursday, I set out determine to buy a traditional lantern,
not any battery operated mambo jumbo!

I finally found it in NTUC....
they were only had 2 miserable design.....
so it is either the ugly prancing deer
or the charming lion....
Hiroshi gets to choose.....
in my heart i was praying and keeping my fingers crossed
for him to choose the charming lion....
and HE DID!!
See, good appreciation of beauty runs in the family.....
wahahahahahaha....

Hiroshi gets to bring his new "pet" lion lantern to school....
He was escalated....
I bet he had a blast in school.....

when I pick him up from the school bus after school.....
I was greeted by "techno REMIX".
for sure it wasn't the UNCLE bus driver....
It was the COMBINATION of ALL the different melodies
from different battery operated lantern.....
(Uncle school bus very tok gong,
can drive with all those noise in the background....
Think for me to drive I will go GILA!!)

In my mind I was thinking......
"alamak, all his classmates take battery operated lanterns,
he sure reject his "pet" lion one!"
BUT, I was so WRONG about it....
Hiroshi held onto his lantern tightly....
STILL shouting with excitement,
"see mummy, see lion!!"
He even refuse to part with it when we got home.

*contented smile*

I hope my grandchildren will still get to see traditional lanterns
in 30 years down the road...
will you help me make my dreams come true
by supporting traditional?

I am supporting traditional....
and I hope you will too....
