Wordless Wednesday {linky party}: SuperMom | Week 48

“Supermom wasn't a bad job description.
The pay was lousy if you were talking about real money.
But the payoff was priceless in so many other ways.”

Duplo; Let your child's imagination run wild!

Many Thanks to Nuffnang & Lego
for the exclusive invites to
Lego Duplo Kids' Event

Getting our Quirky Photos taken at the Photo Wall.

Event was held at Hokey Pokey; Suntec City
Cozy indoor playground. Great for younger kids.
Slides, Ball Pits, Toys and even a Reading Corner!

Sophia having plenty of good fun at the ball pit!

I lived in the generation
where my grandmother would frown upon Lego bricks.
Since there were many small part involved,
she was worried that we might end up swallowing them.
That was how I grew up lacking in the creativity department. ;p

We were delighted to learn that Duplo;
a building toy that is specially designed
for children age 1 1/2 - 5 years old.

They are twice the length, height and width
of the traditional Lego bricks.
It makes them easier to handle
and less likely to be swallowed by younger children.

Great way to kick off a Child's Creative Building Career.
This is Hiroshi getting interviewed by the host Joanne
regarding his dream hotel with helipad.

Well, what's bigger than the queen bee?
The king bee of course.

Sophia all smiles for Duplo!

DUPLO is all about giving your child the opportunity to
build, create, and develop while discovering so many ways to play!

And where was Franklin all these time you ask?
Chillax-ing one corner and reading a good book.

Sponsored: The Most Important Education in Life is Financial Literacy

Having only learnt about financial literacy at the age of 30,
I can't stress enough about learning to manage money & investing.

So when I heard about RichMinds Academy Program,
I was thrilled.
Financial Literacy for Little Kids.
How Amazing!

This is definitely one thing that is lacking from our educational system.
We were mostly taught to study hard, score well, and settle for a good paying job.
But, no one has ever divulge the secrets of money management/investment!!

Lesson was held at
(Kids Arts & Academics Mentorship Program)
Rochester Mall Branch

Off to a very Good Start.
Sophia is all excited about decorating her personal RichMinds Academy folder.

The 5 attributes to Financial Freedom
Kiddie Style
(Spend, Save, Earn, Share, Build)

Kids were taught about money & different currencies.

Hiroshi simply prefers notes

They even made their very own wallets.

A trip to a atas Supermarket

Learning about "Needs" and "Want"

And even understood what it meant by
"More Value for Money"

Simulated Market Place for Lunch Time.
This is Sophia thinking really, really hard
about what to spend her money on.

Learning to Save by Making Piggy Banks

Let's start pipping!

The Contented Smile

After all the baking frenzy,
kids were taught to share their bakes.

Both kids had a jolly good time
and asked if we'll be coming back again for another class.

New friendships were forged

Special Thanks to Richminds Academy
and all those hardworking mentors
for making learning about financial literacy a joy!

I would highly recommend this program to other parents out there
who are interested to teach their kids about the value for money
in a fun and engaging way.

Happy 7th Birthday to Hiroshi!!

Happy Birthday my dear Son,

7 years.....
wow, sometimes I cannot believe that
it has been that long since I delivered you.
I can still remember the very first time I cradled you in my arms.
You were so delicate.
Our first born.
You've brought us so much joy!
And as true to the meaning of your name....
you generously brought us laughter as well.

I hope in 20 years if you get to read this post,
you'll understand why I am being such a tough parent.

I had you when I was 25.
Being a young mum,
many people held doubts about my abilities to care for you.
I didn't know where I had the strength,
but, in my heart,
I said "WATCH ME!"

I didn't need you to be the brightest.
My prayers to God were simple.....
I just wanted you to be well mannered, filial, and compassionate.
(and of course, being the brightest would be an additional bonus!)

I apologize if we've over parented you.
But, you have to understand that every little decisions we make.....
we do have your best interest at heart.

And even through all the reprehension and punishments,
you Must know that we LOVED you a hell lot!

Happy 7th Birthday!

Started the morning with your absolute favorite
Hotcakes Breakfast

and periodically unloads.

Simple Joy

Never too Old to Jump into a Ball Pit!

The thrill of flying on a slide.

Some Electronic Games

I was disappointed.
Comparative to Jurong Safra Kidz Amaze,
this one seems to pale in comparison.
This one is way smaller!
With rowdy big kids teens running around playing catch,
I wasn't sure if I would want to bring the kids back again for another visit!

But however,
the kids loved it!
I reckon a great place to expand their energy during our monsoon season.

I heard that there will eventually be a
Infant & Toddler Play Zone
designed by early childhood experts.
Available on 1st December 2012
