Kids can Bake - Self Frost Nutella Cupcakes

We organised a baking workshop for the kids and their lil kiddy friends...
My very first....
and I swear it was chaotic!!!
But, not bad enough to put me off organising another baking workshop for kids.
We should try this all over again....
but maybe the next time round,
we should opt for easier recipes like cookies or muffins!

The texture of this cupcake is dense and buttery,
so make sure you use butter of a good quality!
Ingredients:
100 grams softened butter
3/4 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
200 grams sifted all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
Nutella or Peanut Butter
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325F.
Line 12 muffin tins with paper liners.

Cream together butter and sugar until light, 2 minutes.
Add in eggs one at a time, until fully incorporated.
Don’t worry if the batter doesn’t look smooth.
Add vanilla. Stir in flour, salt and baking powder
until batter is uniform and no flour remains.

Fill each muffin liner with batter.
They should be 3/4 full. Top each cake with 1 tsp Nutella.
Swirl Nutella in with a toothpick,
making sure to fold a bit of batter up over the nutella.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes 12.

The whole bunch of kids who were bakers of the day!

Thank you for popping by kids!

I'll have to try frosting with nutella, it sounds much better than the regular super sugary frosting we use here in the states!
Thanks for the idea.
