SO NOW WHAT?!?!
Sophia woke up from her nap looking like that!
The puffy lump on the right eyes was so swollen
that she has got trouble opening it....
The left eye was starting to get swollen too...
And both eye lids look really red and irritated.....
I had to admit,
what used to be a super duper cool headed mum
started to panic like SHIT!
I had to do what I hated to do most....
Pack the kids and head straight to KKH!
Reached KKH at about 9.30pm,
there was a huge crowd...
(oh well, tell me since when there isn't a crowd!)
It's just a terrible sight with children screaming and shouting,
Some had kool fever pad on their forehead,
Some were coughing their lungs out....
Some were vomiting,
Some had their hand, arm, leg or feet bandaged....
I think I could literately feel germs and bacterials
swamping around me and the kids
YIKES!
I brought the kids to a quiet corner,
forbid them to touch anything....
and ordered them to stay in the PRAM!!
If you think I am bad...
you should see this other family,
they were constantly rubbing
Dettol hand sanitizer gel on their kids hands!!
We waited and waited....
And we are finally in the doctor's office!
Now, I had to take back what I posted on the earlier posting....
I personally feel that the doctor; Dr Chong
was really professional,
she listened to what I had to say,
examine Sophia,
and gave me a very detailed explanation
to what she felt could be the problem....
She ruled out the possibility that
the swelling of the eyes came from the fall...
(which was comforting for me....)
so now it is either,
A: Protein in the urine,
which will cause the body to swell especially the eye region
due to kidney not functioning properly....
B: An allergic reaction to food
Which cannot be possible,
because there was not new food introduced...
But Sophia did have an insect bit on her right hand
which was swelling up as well.....
So could it be allergic reaction from the insect bite?!?
C: Just an eye infection!
Since they needed a pee pee sample,
and Sophia could not tell if she wants to go pee pee yet,
She had to put on a pee pee bag
and wait for nature to take its' own cause.....
I got her a can of 100 plus,
She hug onto the can and drank NON-STOP....
Hopefully this will be able to speed up the process a little!
Finally she did, I was relived that it happened faster
than what I have expected....
But, when the nurse told me that they need 45 mins to an hour
for the urine sample to be sent to the lab and back,
I nearly flipped!
So no choice,
wait, wait, wait....
When the test results were back,
We were called into the doctor's office again...
Dr Chong told us that it was good news!
At least there is no protein in the urine!!
So it is just a simple case of eye infection!
And we finished at 12.45am....
It's just comforting to know that
it is just a case of eye infection and nothing else....
Thank you GOD!!

yikes! luckily it is just an infection. I dun think you are bad by making them stay in their pram. I will do the same too. If possible, I will stay out of the waiting area. I think I will be the one who keep applying hand santizer on kid's hand. Mabbe I will make him wear a mask. Haha.. any medication for mei mei??
oh no.. Hope princess sophia is feeling better now..the bump did look really huge! but glad to know the eye swelling wasnt because of the fall.
Take care of yourself too Irene! *hugs*
Lazyg3r: jie thanks... it is nice to know that i wasn't so bad... wahahahahaha...
Daphne: thanks babe....
ooi friend, next time you may like to try NUH children emergency instead of KKH. there isn't as much patients and of course waiting time is much much shorter. i just brought caitlyn to nuh emergency 2 weeks ago as she was coughing so much and ended up having shortage of breath!
Ooops... just to clarify... i do not literally mean "next time" *chey chey* as in for any emergency... none of us wants such things to happen again!
Hope sophia is ok now...so heartache to see her eyes swell like tat
